Sam Maguire Came to Visit!
OFF
Friday the 6th of December was a very exciting day for all the children and staff because the SAM MAGUIRE CUP came to the school and what made it even more special was a past pupil Eric Lowndes, a Dublin player was there to chat and answer questions from the children.
The atmosphere was truly electric!!
Each class group had prepared a special preformance for the day!
Junior Infants sang ‘When Dublin Go Marching in’.
Senior Infants calleded out an amazing DUBLIN acrostic poem they had made!
First class were terrific and sang ‘Sam is coming home’!
Second class sang the fabulous ‘Molly Malone’
Most of the teachers sang ‘Come on you boys in blue’!
Eric was so impressed when he received homemade cupcakes with an edible picture of the Sam Maguire Cup and our School Crest on top!! Well done Lisa!!
Eric was so impressed and delighted with the welcome and the atmosphere in the school he gave all the boys and girls a night off homework!! This was welcomed with a very loud roar!
Eric encouraged all the boys and girls that if they wanted to one day win the Sam Maguire Cup like him to join the local GAA club just down the road, a club that he too plays for Saint Peregrines!!
